同窓会のような結婚式
土曜朝、私は友人の結婚披露宴へ出席、旦那は山岳会の救助訓練があり、東京へ向かう。明け方まで嵐で、我が家のデッキには沢山の枝が落ちていた。関東に近づくにつれ木々が紅葉しているのがわかる。軽井沢ではとっくに見納めた紅葉なのでなんだか得をした気分。京都は11月23日あたりが紅葉の見ごろだったはず。しかし、今年は2週間遅れなのだという。以前住んでいた国立に寄り一杯のカプチーノで時間をつぶす。大学通りの並木はいつみても美しい。
国立から、青山のいきつけのサロンに行ったあと、ホテルにチェックイン。友人の結婚式が行われる広尾へ向かう。9年に渡る交際を経ての結婚である。2人の落ち着いた笑顔が印象的だった。結婚式は、友人との同窓会のような感じだ。こういうイベントでもなければ、再会も難しい。みんな家庭を持ち、いつの間にか疎遠になってしまった。次は軽井沢旅行を計画しようと意気投合して別れた。私は、自分で思っている以上に酔っ払っていたようでホテルの部屋に着くなりシャワーを浴びて、そのまま横になってしまったらしい。カーテンからこぼれる朝日で目を覚ました。東京の朝日は軽井沢よりずっとやわらかく感じた。
