湯の丸 池の平山スキー

湯の丸スキー場から池の平までのバックカントリースキー入門ルートに再び行ってきた。軽井沢を出る頃は霧が出ていて気温もマイナス7度で寒く、天気はいまひとつというところ。しかし、浅間サンラインの途中から霧も晴れ、浅間外輪山も良く見渡せる雲ひとつない晴天になった。湯の丸スキー場までの道路は除雪されていたので、スムーズに駐車場まで行けた。平日なので駐車場もガラガラ。身支度を整え、リフトを二本乗り継いでスキー場の上まで行く。考えてみれば6番リフトで上がれば一回で一番高いところまで上がれるので、そっちから行った方がよかった。

シールを付けて、林道と林道の間の尾根に入る。前回よりもかなり雪が多い。しばらく登ると6番リフト終点から上がったと思われるトレースにぶつかった。トレースに従って池の平の外輪山を目指すが、かなり藪の多いラインで疲れた。自分なりにラインを探しても良かったかもしれない。藪が少なくなり、樅の樹林の中を10分ほど登ると稜線に出た。

稜線で昼食を取り、稜線を雲上の丘に向けて進む。時折風が吹くけど、視界も良くとても良い天気。雪質も若干重くなってきているけどパウダーだ。雪の池の平も見える。所々トレースを外れて、思い思いに稜線を行く。とても気持ちが良い。来て良かった。八ケ岳、北アルプスも良く見える。

雲上の丘でシールをはずし、池の平まで一気に滑り込む。樹林もない大きな斜面。もう少し長さがあれば言うことなしなのが残念。久しぶりのバックカントリーでのダウンヒル。やっぱり楽しい。池の平の真中まですべり込み、そこで再びシールを付けて林道を目指す。ここでもトレースに沿って進んでしまったが、北東の方角に進んだ方が早く林道に戻れた。トレースがあるからといって、安易に後を追うべきじゃないということですね。反省。林道をちょっと上がると兎平に出た。そこで再びシールをはずし、林道をスキー場まで戻る。10分もかからず戻れた。そのまま駐車場まで滑り下り、本日のツアーは終了。
天気もよく、奥さんも初めてのバックカントリースキーツアーを楽しめたようでよかった。次は草津白根か根子岳に日帰りツアーに行ってステップアップしたい。やっぱり山スキーは面白い。

軽井沢（8:45）-湯の丸山スキー場着（9:40）-スキー場上（10:35/10:55）-池の平稜線（11:55/12:45）-滑降開始（13:10）-スキー場（15:12） 下山
