佐久 志賀の岩場（No.13）

有笠山に行く予定だったが、昨日雨が降っていたのと、本日も天気予報的には今ひとつなので、安全パイの佐久に行くことにした。9:00頃到着すると、いつも駐車するところに既に車が停まっている。黄昏エリアへのアプローチ林道の奥に停めると他の車が駐車したら出れなくなるので（その場合は車を出してもらわなければならない）、林道を少し奥まで進んだところにある路肩の駐車スペースに停めた。エンジンを切ったとたんにアブの大襲撃にあう。やつらはものすごい勢いで車に突っ込んでくるので、フロントガラスにもベシベシあたっている。先日の有笠山でも同じ状況だったので、今がシーズンなのだろう。

岩場までのアプローチは少し湿っていたが、岩自体は乾いていた。一本杉エリアでアップし、宿題となっている11aのルートに取り付く。前回はボルト2本目までしかいけなかったが、今回はかなりスムーズにムーヴがつながる。というよりも余裕を感じられ、下部の薄かぶりのフェースはこなすことが出来た。「これはレッドポイントいけるか！」と思ったが、中間部のバンドに上がる部分で左のガバを見つけられず、心もとないホールドでのパーミングに腕の力を使い果たし乗り越し前でテンション。もう少しルートを読む力をつけなければ。少し休んで左の縦ガバを使えば簡単にいけた。くやしい。しかし簡単そうに見えた最後のバルジ上のフェースは厳しく、ここでも一度テンション。佐久はバルジ上のフェースが最も難しいと思う。ハングはガバが多いし、フェースは細かいがエッジを拾っていけば何とかなるが、バルジ上の部分は足順を間違えるとバランスが極端に悪くなってしまう。といっても、フリクションは良いので、ムーヴを上手に見つけられれば良いのだが...。なんとかつないで終了点まで行く。天気は徐々に悪くなってきていたが、今日中にムーヴは続けたいと思ったので、トップロープにして降りる。

この時点で奥さんは「絶対に雨が来るから止めた方が良い」と言っていたのだが、強引にトップロープをセットしてしまった。この判断が間違いで、まずは奥さんをトップロープで登らせようとしていたらポツポツ降ってきた。すぐにやむだろうと思って岩陰にいたけどどんどん強くなり、このまま行くと土砂降りになる可能性が高かったので、雨の中トップロープで回収に登る。最後のバルジ付近では土砂降りになってしまい、ルートは滝になってしまった。ゴボウで終了点まで登り、回収して降りるが下についた時点で既にびしょ濡れ。ギアもすっかり濡れてしまった。ブルーな気分で軽井沢まで変えると停電があったらしくすべての時計がリセットされていた。
