小川山（No.7） 二日目

今回の目的の一つ、クラッククライミングのトレーニングのためハコヤ岩に行った。考えてみればクライマーも殆どいないので人気エリアに行けば良いものを、ここの所平日に来ることも多かったので、あまり気にせず不人気エリアばっかり選んでいる。しかもわざわざハコヤ岩まで行ったにもかかわらず、昼はキャンプサイトで食べようと思って持って行かなかったため、あまり登りこめなかったのは反省。

ハコヤ岩までは気持ち良いカモシカ遊歩道をのんびり歩く。まずは「冬のいざない」に取り付こうとするが、最初取り付きがよく分からず、下部岩壁の左側の方に行ってしまう。5分ほど迷って写真で見たことのある「冬のいざない」を見つけられた。久しぶりのクラックのオンサイトトライなので、やや多めにギアを持って行く。一段上がったテラスから登攀開始になるが、ハンドクラックがバッチリ決まるのであまり怖くない。ナッツとキャメロットで4つほどランニングを取り、核心部下のテラスに這い上がる。少しレストして、ややハング気味のクラックに入っていく。右のハンドジャムは結構決まっている（とは思う）のだが、ハングの上に乗り越すには左手が心もとない。左手はクラックにジャムすることも行かず、2度程行きつ戻りつしてしまう。ハングの左上にやや効くホールドがあったので、思い切って身体を上げ、左手のホールドで耐えながら右手のジャムの高度を上げていき、ハング上に抜けることが出来た。簡単なんだろうけど、それほど得意ではないクラックでうれしいオンサイト。充実感は高い。トップロープを張ろうと思ったがさすがにハコヤ岩、そんな支点はないので、奥さんにはフォローで登ってきてもらう。彼女もノーテンションで上がってきた。

せっかく二人でテラスまで上がったので、そのままハコヤ岩の上部まで登ることにする。トポを取り付きにおいてきてしまったので、登れそうなルートを選んで登ることにする。「冬のいざない」の2ピッチ目は5.10cあるのでパスし、右端の5.8くらいのハンドクラックから上がっていく。5mくらいのハンドクラックを越すと傾斜もゆるくなり、スリングが掛かっている潅木を目指してぐいぐい上がる。アルパインチックで楽しい。終了点まで行くと喉もカラカラだったが、さらに上部壁が続いているので見学だけしに行った。快適そうなハンドクラックや楽しそうなスラブもあり、ポケットに入る大きさのトポを持ってもう一度来たい。「日本の岩場 3」のトポはちょっと位置関係が分かりづらく、偶然持っていたクライミングジャーナルにハコヤ岩が開拓されてきた時の記録があったので、次回はこれを持って行こう。

岩壁右の樹林帯の中の踏み跡をたどって取り付きに戻り、おなかも空いたのでキャンプ場に戻る。近場のエリアに行こうと思ったが、15:00頃より雨雲がわいてきたのでお風呂に入りに行き、ナナーズに買出し。その後はのんびりする。結局雨は降らなかった。
